HOW TO BECOME A PROFESSIONAL TOURIST GUIDE
What is a Tourist Guide?
According to the European Committee for Standardisation (CEN), a tour guide is a person who guides visitors in the language of their choice and interprets the cultural and natural heritage for an area of which the person possesses an area-specific qualification usually issued and/or recognized by the appropriate authority.

This is distinct from a tour manager as defined by CEN, which would be a person who manages an itinerary on behalf of the tour operator, ensuring the program is sold and carried out as described in the tour operator's literature and who gives local practical information. Tour managers may or may not be tour guides as well. They are not necessarily trained or licensed to work in specific areas, depending on the region.

The wonderful thing about becoming a tour guide is that you have the opportunity to be an ambassador of your country, representing Armenia to foreign tourists, and sharing the cultural heritage of the nation.
